1 Dr. Hedayat Ghazanfari Center for Research and Development of Northern Zagros Forestry Dr. Kyumars Mohammadi Samani Dr. Hedayat Ghazanfari Center for Research and Development (R&D) of Northern Zagros Forestry was founded in 2005 in the city of Baneh (Kurdistan Province) as a link to connect the University of Kurdistan and the administrative organizations concerning natural resources. The missions and purposes are:
  • to provide research facilities for students and researchers from Iran and from other parts of the world
  • to optimally combine the production factors of natural resources in order to improve the income and livelihood of local communities
  • to focus on the conservation, protection, improvement, rehabilitation, and sustainable management of natural ecosystems
  •  to produce and disseminate scientific and research findings in order to improve natural resource management plans
